Anthropic filed for an IPO, reporting $16.3 billion in first-half 2026 revenue and outlining founder voting control and trust board powers.
Anthropic filed for an initial public offering on October 26, 2026, according to TechCrunch’s report on the company’s latest filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The filing says the company plans to list under the ticker ANT, but does not disclose how much it hopes to raise or a proposed share price.
Anthropic reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, compared with $1.2 billion in the same period of 2025. Its operating loss for the first six months of 2026 was $693 million, down from $2.1 billion a year earlier. The filing also reported a net loss of $80.7 billion, which the company attributed largely to noncash accounting adjustments tied to convertible debt. Anthropic cautioned that it may not achieve or maintain profitability.
The filing describes a substantial base of large enterprise customers. By the end of September, more than 11,900 customers were spending at least $100,000 annually with Anthropic; 1,900 spent at least $1 million, and about 250 spent at least $10 million. Those figures provide a snapshot of commercial adoption, while the reported losses show that strong revenue growth has not yet meant operating profitability.
The proposed governance structure would give Anthropic’s seven co-founders, through a “Founder LLC,” 50.1% of shareholder voting power after the company goes public. The filing says this arrangement is intended to protect Anthropic’s AI safety mission. Separately, the Long-Term Benefit Trust, established in 2023, would have authority to appoint most of the board. The structure separates voting influence from economic ownership, which could leave public shareholders with limited practical control.
The filing follows weeks of reports about drafts of the company’s registration statement. Anthropic has not yet set out the offering’s fundraising target or price, so those terms remain undisclosed in the material described by TechCrunch.
