Nous Research confirmed a $90 million Series B at a $1.5 billion valuation and is using the funding to develop customized business AI agents.
Nous Research confirmed on October 7, 2026, that it raised $90 million in a Series B round valuing the company at $1.5 billion. The three-year-old startup, which develops the open-source Hermes Agent, said the financing will support its expansion into enterprise customers with a product called Hermes for Businesses.
Robot Ventures led the round. Participants included Nvidia, Union Square Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Samsung and 1789 Capital. The raise brings Nous Research’s total funding to $158 million.
Hermes for Businesses is intended to let companies deploy customized agents for multi-step workflows while keeping company data private and secure, according to the report. The funding therefore accompanies a move from a tool popular with developers and individuals toward business deployments; the article does not provide a release schedule or details on pricing and availability for the business offering.
Nous Research said Hermes Agent has been cloned more than 24 million times. The startup also estimates the agent accounts for roughly 2.5% of global AI token usage, a figure attributed to the company rather than an independent measurement.
The report cited separate Wall Street Journal reporting that Nous was generating about $36 million in annualized revenue by mid-September 2026 and expected to exceed $100 million before the end of the year. That latter figure is a company expectation, not a reported year-end result.
The new round gives Nous additional capital to pursue enterprise adoption alongside its existing open-source agent work. The business product’s emphasis on customization and data privacy points to the deployment requirements it is targeting, while questions about its capabilities, safeguards and commercial terms remain unanswered in the announcement coverage.
