Qlik Details How Its Bedrock-Powered Assistant Searches Enterprise Data With Safeguards

AWS Machine LearningOct 7, 2026

Qlik says its Qlik Answers platform uses Amazon Bedrock and a multi-layer agent architecture to deliver sourced responses across enterprise data.

Qlik has outlined the architecture behind Qlik Answers, its AI assistant for searching enterprise information, which the company says serves more than 40,000 customers. The product became generally available in February 2026. Since then, Qlik reports that its Discovery Agent has surfaced more than 100,000 discoveries, and that a majority of Qlik Cloud accounts with agentic tools enabled are actively using them.

The system routes questions according to the kind of information needed. Answers can draw on structured analytics, documents, knowledge bases, glossary entries or automations. Qlik separates request routing from response generation, then uses specialist agents and a dedicated analytics path for questions involving structured data. For document search, it uses Amazon OpenSearch Service to index and retrieve content.

Amazon Bedrock provides access to models for chat, streaming, embeddings and reranking through Qlik’s own language-model gateway. Qlik says this lets its product teams choose models for particular tasks without tying application logic to a single model. Amazon Bedrock Guardrails are applied to requests and responses, including checks for prompt injection, personally identifiable information, secrets and disallowed topics. The system also checks generated answers against source material; responses to unstructured-data questions can include citations to retrieved content.

Qlik says the design also addresses regional data requirements. Bedrock cross-Region inference supports deployments across 11 Regions, while the company can host a model on Amazon SageMaker AI when it is not yet available in the needed Region through Bedrock. Qlik forecasts model capacity three to six months ahead of major launches and compares projections with usage after rollout.

Customer examples in the post include Lintech International, which indexed more than 17,000 technical documents and reported 75 percent faster response times, returning as much as seven hours a week to business managers. Bystronic reported deploying a chatbot in 15 minutes for questions about operational data. Qlik says it is evaluating Amazon Bedrock AgentCore for selected workloads, while continuing to develop its own orchestration framework and model-evaluation process.

Enterprise AI with built-in controls

Enterprise software and business operations

Overview

Qlik’s architecture shows how businesses can make assistants useful across documents, knowledge bases and structured analytics while keeping routing, model selection and response generation distinct. In the short term, citations, source checks and Bedrock Guardrails offer teams mechanisms to manage answer quality and sensitive information. Regional inference options and capacity forecasting also address deployment planning. For technology and security leaders, the longer-term implication is that enterprise assistants can combine multiple models and data paths without locking application logic to one model, though organizations still need to evaluate performance and safeguards for their own workloads.

Key Impact Points

Specialist agents and a dedicated analytics path route questions to relevant enterprise data sources.

Guardrails check for prompt injection, personal information, secrets and disallowed topics; document answers can cite retrieved content.

Regional model options and advance capacity forecasting support deployment planning across markets and product launches.

Opportunities

Grounded assistants for enterprise information

Enterprise software and business operations

Organizations with information spread across documents, knowledge bases and structured analytics can build assistants that route questions to the appropriate source and return answers grounded in retrieved content. Qlik’s design points to a practical pattern: separate routing from generation, use specialized agents for different data types, apply request and response safeguards, and cite sources for document-based answers. A model gateway can also let teams choose models for specific tasks without binding application logic to one model. The opportunity is to reduce the effort involved in finding internal information; results should be validated with a limited pilot, clear data controls and workload-specific evaluation. The article does not establish pricing or direct revenue from this pattern.

  • Source-grounded enterprise information assistant

Problem: Employees need to find answers across enterprise documents, knowledge bases and structured data.

Solution: Build an assistant that routes questions to suitable data sources, checks responses against source material and cites retrieved content for document queries.

Target Users: Organizations managing technical documents, knowledge bases and operational data.

Business Value: Lintech International reported 75 percent faster response times after indexing more than 17,000 technical documents; Bystronic reported deploying a chatbot in 15 minutes for operational-data questions.

Revenue Potential: The article does not provide pricing or revenue figures. Potential value is operational efficiency and faster access to information, rather than a demonstrated direct revenue stream.
